Question 1

What’s the difference between a metal frog and two clear frogs for the StemSlider?

Accepted Answer

There are two options: a metal frog or two clear plastic frogs. The clear plastic frogs cover a wider area at the base, helping support stems well, and they are slightly more affordable.

The metal frog is heavier and very stable, with strong needles. It can also be used for other table or vessel arrangements and tends to last longer over time.

Question 2

What size bouquets can I create with the Mini and Regular StemSlider?

Accepted Answer

With the Regular StemSlider, you can create anything from a large gift bouquet to a full-size bridal bouquet. It typically holds around three dozen stems, depending on the thickness of the stems. You can also adjust the height of the bouquet by using the cylinder vase included with the tool or a taller vase you may already have.

The mini-StemSlider is designed for smaller bouquets, such as bridesmaids’ bouquets or petite bridal bouquets. It usually works well with around two dozen stems, again depending on stem thickness.

Question 3

Where can I find a glass cylinder vase?

Accepted Answer

Glass cylinder vases are included with your StemSlider order to make setup simple and ready to use right away!

If you ever need a replacement (for example, if the vase breaks), you can easily find it from Amazon store here ( US) https://a.co/d/0bDKLRIh , or from CYS EXCEL , or other online stores and local suppliers.

For the standard StemSlider, the ideal vase size is 7 inches wide by 6 inches tall (7" × 6"). For the mini StemSlider, use a 6-inch wide by 6-inch tall (6" × 6") vase.

Question 4

Is it possible to make large gift bouquets using the StemSlider, or is it only for wedding bouquets?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the StemSlider can absolutely be used for large gift bouquets, not only for wedding bouquets. While the cylinder vase included with the tool is ideal for wedding bouquets, you can also use other vases you may already have — such as taller, narrower vases (e.g., 6" W × 8" H) — to create larger, more upright bouquets with longer stems.

Question 5

How many grid wires should I use?

Accepted Answer

The toolkit includes 8 grid wires, but typically, you'll only need 4 wires to make a 3x3 grid. If you need extra support at the beginning of the process, you can add more wires or create an additional layer by inserting extra wires into the bottom layer of the 'base' of the StemSlider. However, the flower frogs in the vase will also help hold the stems in place, so using just 4 wires is recommended for most bouquets.

Question 6

Do you personalize the StemSlider tool?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer personalization for your StemSlider tool by engraving your preferred name (up to 12 letters or numbers) on the colored mirror acrylic of the StemSlider. Simply enter the name in the designated box on the shopping page (before adding it to your cart). Please note that personalized StemSliders are not eligible for return.

Question 7

How can I set up the StemSlider and create a bouquet?

Accepted Answer

Your StemSlider toolkit includes a step-by-step instruction booklet to guide you through setup and bouquet creation.

The booklet includes QR codes that link to a library of short, high-quality videos, including:

-“How to Set Up the StemSlider” – a full walkthrough of assembly and use.

-“How to Make a Loose and Airy Bouquet” – several creative tutorials for different arrangement styles.

-“Tips and Tricks” videos – expert advice to help you perfect your designs.

We’ve carefully curated these materials so you can get professional results quickly and enjoy the process of creating beautiful arrangements.

Question 8

What should I do if I have trouble making a bouquet with the StemSlider?

Accepted Answer

If you’re having trouble, there are tips and tricks on pages 7-8 of the booklet that may help, as well as a bouquet tutorial video included in the toolkit. The tutorial shows one way to make a bouquet, but you can adjust the approach depending on the flower materials, style, and shape. It is a great tool to experiment and find what works best for you!

I also plan to create online classes with different styles and materials in the near future. If you still encounter issues, please reach out to us via the contact form.

Question 9

What does the StemSlider Profiler do?

Accepted Answer

The StemSlider Profiler shows a side profile view of the first few stems, guiding you on where to position them and providing a general outline of the bouquet. Once you're comfortable with creating bouquets and have a sense of overall dimensions, you might not need the Profiler anymore. It's also a great tool for teaching team members how to make and size a bouquet.

Question 10

How long does it take to get confident with the StemSlider tool?

Accepted Answer

Building confidence with the StemSlider, like any tool, may take some practice. How quickly you improve depends on how often you experiment and the bouquet styles you want to create. With regular practice, you'll soon be creating beautiful bouquets effortlessly. Take your time, enjoy the process, and remember that each step brings you closer to mastering your bouquet-making skills! 😊

Question 11

Do I need to use the flower frogs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, I highly recommend using the flower frogs in the vase to help hold the stems in place. This is also covered in the bouquet tutorial video, so be sure to check that out!
